On Sunday, 30 June 2024, at the celebrating Church of the Holy Apostles, in the city of Newcastle, New South Wales, Father Mark Donnelly, having served in the said Church since his ordination as a Deacon in November 2022, with the blessing and permission of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia was ordained a Presbyter, by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, in the presence of a large number of faithful believers.

His Grace Bishop Iakovos conveyed to Father Mark and to all the faithful present the paternal blessings and love of their Chief Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. In addition, addressing the ordinand, he praised him for the humility he has shown since he was ordained a deacon by His Eminence, and for his excellent Orthodox ethos and mindset. He urged him to continue serving the Holy Archdiocese of Australia with the same spirit.

For his part, Father Mark expressed his heartfelt gratitude and love for His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and with much emotion declared that he would offer himself, with absolute obedience and love, to the Church.
