On the 5th or 12th of February the enthronement of the new Archbishop of Crete

NEW ARCHBISHOP OF CRETE: Within the day, except the unexpected, the Minister of Education and Religion is expected to sign the Presidential Decree appointing the new Archbishop of Crete, His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios, which will launch the procedures needed until his enthronement.

According to the comments made by the Bishop of Knossos to told Newshub.gr, after the signing of the document, His Eminence will be summoned to Athens for the confirmation the before the President of the Republic, Katerini Sakellaropoulou. It is estimated that this will be done within ten days from the publication of the Official Gazette.

Consequently, the enthronement of the new Archbishop at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Minas will take place either on Saturday, February 5 or the following Saturday, February 12.
