Metropolitan of Kyiv led Divine Liturgy at St. Michael Cathedral for Patronal Feast Day

On 8 November 2024, on the day of the Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Other Bodiless Powers, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral, which celebrates its patronal feast day.

Also present for the feast day and concelebrating with the head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Metropolitan Makariy of Lviv, Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Barsky, Metropolitan Andriy of Halyvskyi, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Mykolaiv and Bogoyavlenskyi, Metropolitan of Lviv and Sokalsky Dimitry, Metropolitan Kliment of Simferopol and Crimea, Metropolitan Nestor of Ternopil and Kremenetski, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bylotserkiv, Metropolitan of Dniprovsky, and Metropolitan Simeon of Sicheslav, Archbishop Yakiv of Drohobytsky and Sambir, Archbishop Lavrenty of Luhansk and Starobil, Archbishop Matthew of Volodymyr and Novovolynsky, Archbishop German of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Novoushytskyi, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod, Bishop Kirill of Uzhgorod and Khust, Bishop Ioan of Byologorod, Bishop Photius of Zaporizhzhya and Melitopol, Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, Bishop Efrem of Vasylkiv, Bishop Arsenii of Bohuslav, Bishop Abraham of Boryspil, the brothers of the monastery and numerous invited clergy.

After reading the Gospel, the Metropolitan delivered the first sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when Ukraine is in danger.

Also during the service, prayer requests were made for the soldiers who are defending Ukraine, for the government and the people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of Ukraine and civilians who died during the war.

At the end of the festive Divine Liturgy, a solemn procession of the Holy Cross and a prayer service to St. Michael the Archangel were held.
