Metropolitan Epifaniy led solemn Epiphany service amid prayers for Ukraine

On the Feast of Epiphany, the Baptism of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, January 6, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epfaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral.

Joining the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, Abbot of the Golden-Domed Monastery, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkiv, the brotherhood of the monastery, and invited clergy.

After the reading of the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord during this time of peril for Ukraine.

During the service, prayers were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the authorities and the nation, and for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the homeland and peaceful citizens who perished during the war.

At the conclusion of the solemn service, Metropolitan Epifaniy performed the Rite of the Great Blessing of Water in the cathedral, sprinkling the congregation with the holy water.
