Metropolitan Daniel of Accra held first missionary visit to the Orthodox Communities
On Friday, 29 March 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Accra made his first missionary visit to the Orthodox Communities of the cities of Larteh and Tema.
The town of Larteh is located east, at a distance of 56 kilometers from the capital Accra.
There he visited the Holy Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul and Saint Nektarios, which is served by Father Vasilios Labi. Behind the Church, a trisagion memorial prayer was offered at the grave of Father Gregorios.
Afterwards, His Eminence visited the Orthodox Technical School of “Saint Peter”, in order to supervise the area, the building facilities of the school and ascertain its needs.
Then the Metropolitan traveled 41 km in the direction of the seaside town of Tema on the Atlantic Ocean, where the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas is located, which is served by Father Irenaios.
There he had the pleasure of being received by faithful Orthodox of the region and to visit the primary school “Agios Nikolaos” which is maintained by the “Tsakos Group” Foundation.
