Melbourne: The Third Stanza of the Salutations to the Theotokos at the Parish of Panagia Kamariani, Red Hill

On Friday, 21 March 2025, the faithful gathered at the parish of Panagia Kamariani in Red Hill for the Service of the Third Stanza of the Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos, a time of reflection and reverence as we prepare for the great feast of the Annunciation.

His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the service, delivering a profound sermon that touched the hearts of those in attendance. With great humility and reverence, His Grace conveyed the paternal wishes and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to the congregation, reminding all present of the importance of maintaining faith and unity in the love of Christ.

During his homily, His Grace placed a strong emphasis on the necessity of prayer for our neighbours. He reminded the faithful that love, compassion, and kindness must guide our actions toward others, reflecting the teachings of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. “We are called to love one another as Christ has taught us,” he said, urging all present to live out these words not only in prayer but also in our daily lives.

The service was also attended by the Parish Priest, Father Irinaios Koikas. As the Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos were chanted, the congregation prayed fervently for the intercession of the Virgin Mary, asking her to guide their hearts in prayer and love for their neighbours. The service, bathed in the light of faith and devotion, served as a reminder of our calling to be instruments of peace and love in a world that so desperately needs it.
