Melbourne: Feast Day of the Church of the Archangels in Mentone
On Thursday and Friday, 7 and 8 November 2024, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the feast day services on the occasion of the Feast of the Synaxis of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, at the celebrating Church of the Holy Archangels in the suburb of Mentone in Melbourne. On Thursday His Grace officiated at the Great Vespers and on Friday he presided over the Matins and Divine Liturgy.
His Grace was joined by many clergymen from the Holy Diocese of Melbourne, as well as Father Kyriakos Peripetsakis from the Holy Diocese of Chora.
A crowd of believers reverently flocked to the celebrating Parish on both days, while Bishop Kyriakos also appropriately spoke to the congregation about the importance of the feast day and about the Church’s teaching on the Holy Angels and Archangels.
Also, Bishop Kyriakos conveyed to all the faithful the wishes and blessings of our Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
Among the faithful who were in attendance at the Feast Day, was Mr. Nicholas Archontonis, the brother of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
