Holy Relic of St. Daniel Katounakiotis translated to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi
A Holy Relic of St. Daniel Katounakiotis of Smyrna was Translated on Sunday, 12 February 2023, to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, where the Holy Relic was solemnly and reverently received by the Monastery’s Abbot, Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, and Vatopedi Fathers and Elders.
The Holy Relic was conveyed by Hieromonk Fr. Nifon Katounakiotis, and will forever remain at the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi for the blessing and veneration of the Mount Athos Monastery’s brotherhood and pilgrims.
The ecclesiastical service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochios of Adrianople, of the Ecumenical Throne, with Elder Ephraim later referring to a great blessing for the venerable monastery, during a prayer service at the Catholicon, the main cathedral. The Abbot also emphasised the spiritual connection of St. Daniel with St. Joseph the Hesychast.
