On the evening of Saturday the 5th of April 2025, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Hieromonk Antipas, Elder of the Iviron Cell of St Anna in Karyes of Mount Athos, delivered a spiritual talk in the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of St John in Forrestfield WA.
The talk of the Athonite Father centred on salvation, prayer and the central role of the Church in our Christian life. Fr Antipas enlightened the many in attendance with lessons and anecdotes from the lives of many saints, in particular Saint John Chrysostom and Saint Paisios the Athonite.
At the conclusion of the talk, the faithful had the opportunity to ask questions on topics relating to forgiveness, humility and confession.
Father Antipas was welcomed and introduced by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth, who officially thanked Father Antipas, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, for his edifying talk.
Father Antipas thanked His Eminence and His Grace for the opportunity to be in Perth for a 6-day visit and to address the faithful gathered at the holy monastery.

At the conclusion of the evening’s proceedings, Bishop Elpidios instructed those in attendance, many of whom were young people and converts to the faith, to come forward and receive the blessing of Father Antipas.
The following day, the 6th of April, the 5th Sunday of Lent where the memory of St Mary of Egypt is celebrated according to the Ecclesiastical Typikon of the Church, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth officiated at the Matins and presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Annunciation of Our Lady in West Perth. Father Antipas after being asked by His Grace, delivered the Sunday sermon and spoke on the gospel pericope of the day.
Following the Divine Liturgy, Hieromonk Antipas distributed the antidoron allowing all the faithful to come up and receive his blessing and then continued to hear the confessions of the faithful.
