Holy Diocese of Perth: Lenten Talk on St Mary of Egypt
On Wednesday the 9th of April 2025, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth delivered a Lenten Lecture on the Life of St Mary of Egypt.
His Grace spoke at the weekly Wednesday evening fellowship gathering which takes places at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene in Northbridge.
In His lecture, His Grace presented the life of St Mary as a paradigm of repentance, humility and perseverance. His Grace also emphasised the fact how St Mary of Egypt is one of the three great saints celebrated during the Sundays of Holy Lent.
At the conclusion of the talk, the faithful enjoyed the opportunity to ask His Grace many questions about Lent, humility, confession and the life of St Mary. His Grace conveyed the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and wished everyone a salvific Holy Week and Pascha.
