His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis in Launceston, Tasmania
On Saturday, 19 March, 2022, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew visited Launceston in Tasmania and served at the church of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
His Grace was assisted by Reverend Father Dimitrios Katsis and Very Reverend Nicholas Bozikis who assisted at the chanting box.
Amongst those present was the newly elected Member of Bass Lara Alexander MP who happens to be Orthodox from the Romanian church.
His Grace thanked everyone for attending the service and for those who assist in the upkeep of the church.
Moreover he stressed the importance of unity and love. That in order to attain the Kingdom of God we need to be united and have love in our hearts for everyone.
Following the service there was a lunch in the hall in honour of His Grace. The Committee then presented a gift to His Grace honouring his first visited there as a Bishop.
It must be noted that the congregation were extremely thankful for the visit of His Grace at the church, as it was the first time since 1998 that a Bishop has served at the church.
His Grace conveyed the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and informed the congregation that His Eminence will be visiting Launceston in June and will be serving at the church, a great honour for the people of Launceston.
