His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis in Albury

With the Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visited Albury for the feast day of St John Chrysostom and the Panigiri of the church Holy Archangels.

Assisting His Grace was Reverend Father Platon Derlis from the church of St George in Shepparton.

In his sermon His Grace spoke about St John Chrysostom, an educated individual with a strong work ethic, a man of integrity and fairness, a social individual, a man who possessed a golden mouth and a golden heart.

Furthermore His Grace spoke about the Saint’s mother, St Anthousa who brought up her son with many virtues.

Bishop Bartholomew then spoke about the importance of Saints being an example for us. In a world where we seek role models and people to teach us what is right, St John and St Anthousa who followed the right path towards Christ are people we must mirror.

In conclusion His Grace conveyed the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

After the service a luncheon was held in the adjacent hall where students of the Greek School danced greek dancing and sung greek songs.

His Grace thanked the children, their teaches and their parents for sending their children to Greek School and congratulated the community of Albury on behalf of His Eminence for the love and unity that they have.

Furthermore he asked them to continue to have love amongst themselves and to know that God will continue to bless them in abundance.
