Hellenic Ministry of Culture allocates €2.5 mln for upgrades to Crete’s Gortyn archaeological site
The Hellenic Ministry of Culture is investing €2.5 million to upgrade the Archaeological Site of Gortyn, located 45 km south of Iraklio on the island of Crete.
Spanning 4,000 sq.m., the site includes the acropolis and necropolises. Improvements focus on pathways and accessibility for visitors, including individuals with disabilities.
The project encompasses conservation efforts and infrastructure upgrades to enhance the site’s appeal, with specific attention to the Great Theatre of Gortyn.
