Greek FM Gerapetritis: Priority on humanitarian aid and rebuilding Syria’s institutions

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, who represented Greece at the international ministerial meeting on Syria held on Thursday in Paris, stressed that Syria is going through a critical period and what is most important is to provide clear humanitarian aid and to achieve the rebuilding of the country’s institutions.
He also stressed that Greece will be actively present in all negotiations on the future of Syria. He recalled that in recent days he had visited seven regions of the Middle East. He also noted that for Greece, which is a member of the EU and the UN Security Council, the absolute respect for both international law and the law of the sea by the new Syrian regime, which, he said, should be inclusive, including all Christian populations in its governance.
