Greek Embassy in Albania mourns the passing of Archbishop Anastasios
The Greek Embassy in Albania expressed its profound sorrow over the passing of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania.
In an official statement, the Embassy highlighted the late Archbishop’s exemplary life, describing it as “a brilliant and practical demonstration of Christian love and service to humanity.” The statement further emphasised his pivotal role as “the foundational pillar of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, a selfless leader, a gracious interlocutor, and a distinguished academic.”
The Embassy extended heartfelt condolences to the Orthodox faithful of Albania, both Greek expatriates and Albanians, as well as to the entire Albanian nation, mourning the loss of “a great hierarch.”
