GO Youth Melbourne: Hiking Day – first social event for 2023
On Saturday 21 January 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Go Youth Melbourne held its first social event of the new year, starting with a hike at R.J Hamer Arboretum in the Dandenong Ranges.
Approximately 20 youth and young adults between the ages of 18-29 came along to gather together at 11am in Olinda, aiming to enjoy the warm weather and company of friends while taking a few hours to hike the trail at R.J Hamer Arboretum. The trail allowed the youth to experience beautiful views of nature, which featured many exotic trees and the sounds of native species. The hike allowed the youth to bond with each other, laugh, reflect and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the Dandenong Ranges.
As the hike came to a close in the afternoon, the youth drove down to Glen Waverley for a late lunch at the Glen, sharing a meal. This ended up being the perfect end to the day and the start of a well-deserved rest.
GO Youth Melbourne wish to thank all those who came together for this day out, while they also announce to all the youth of Melbourne to follow GO Youth Melbourne on Facebook and Instagram for information on future events.
