Festive Hierarchical Concelebration in Tirana for the Feast Day of Saint George the Great Martyr

With grandeur and deep spiritual reverence, a festive hierarchical concelebration was held yesterday, on Bright Wednesday, 23 April 2025, at the Church of the Resurrection in Tirana, marking the feast of Saint George the Great Martyr and Trophy-Bearer.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, joined in concelebration by His Eminence Metropolitan Georgios of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon, who is currently on an official visit to the Orthodox Church of Albania.

Also participating were His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Amantia, His Grace Bishop Anastasios of Kruja, and a host of priests and deacons from the Holy Archdiocese of Tirana.

During the service, Archbishop Anastasios conferred the honorary ecclesiastical title of Sakellarios–Stavrophoros upon Fr. Ilias Maznik, recognising his dedicated pastoral service.

The faithful gathered in great numbers, filling the church with prayerful devotion. The celebration was not only a liturgical highlight but also a powerful expression of unity and brotherly love between the local Orthodox Churches, affirming their shared faith and mission.
