Feast Day of the Holy Spirit at the Theological School of Halki

The Church of the Holy Trinity at the Theological School of Halki celebrated with solemnity and devotion on the Monday of the Holy Spirit, 24 June 2024. The Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria on behalf of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

His Eminence Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, Commissioner of the Holy Sepulchre in Constantinople, the Abbot of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, His Grace Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, a group of graduates of the Theological School led by Professor Nikolaos Xexakis, President of the Theological Centre of Halki in Athens, clergy and monks, as well as believers from the Princes’ Islands, Constantinople, and Greece, attended the feast day Divine Liturgy.

At the reception which followed held in the Great Synodikon of the School, the Abbot addressed the attendees, reflecting on the feast day and highlighting the extensive renovation of the School’s building complex, generously sponsored by the Archon Exarch of the Holy Great Church of Christ, Mr. Athanasios Martinou.

Professor Xexakis, President of the Theological Centre of Halki in Athens, and Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria also offered greetings. Metropolitan Maximos conveyed the wishes of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and spoke about the “spirit of Halki,” emphasising its role in fulfilling the Ecumenical mission of the Great Church.
