Father Emmanuel Lykopandis was honored by Victoria Police

On the 6 August 2024, the Parish Priest of the Church of Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist in Carlton, Melbourne, Fr Emmanuel Lykopandis was honoured by Victoria Police with the Police service medal for  11 years of chaplaincy service to the police officers from Moonee Ponds, Flemington, Avondale Hights, Fawkner, Brunswick, North Melbourne Police station and to two specialised units, the Air Wing at Essendon airport and RPDAS at the Dawson Street complex. Father Emmanuel was recognised for his supportive services, as a counsellor and guide to the psychospiritual needs of the staff and officers.

Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton honoured Father Emmanuel with the medal in the presence of the police command including the Minister of Police and Emergency services The Honourable Anthony Carbines M.P. on the occasion of the 50 Years anniversary of Police chaplaincy in the state of Victoria. 

The Parish Council and parishioners of the Church of Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist in Carlton expressed their pride for Father Emmanuel’s recognition and awarding.
