Father Antipas from Mt Athos visits the Holy Diocese of Perth

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Hieromonk Antipas, Elder of the Iviron Cell of St Anna in Karyes of Mount Athos, arrived in Perth for a 6-day visit on Friday the 4th of April 2025.

His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth together with Archimandrite Makarios Souris, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St John, warmly welcomed Father Antipas at the Perth Domestic Airport on the day of his arrival.

In the evening of the same day, His Grace Bishop Elpidios Presided at the service of the Akathist Hymn at the Church of the Annunciation in West Perth and in the presence of Fr Antipas, who also delivered the sermon on the night. 

Fr Antipas will be visiting all parishes of the Perth Diocese, giving the faithful the opportunity to attend the sacrament of Holy Confession. In addition, Fr Antipas will be addressing the youth at the Holy Monastery of St John on the Saturday evening.
