Ecumenical Patriarch’s pilgrimage to the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Chalkeio

As part of his four-day visit to Chios, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited the village of Chalkeio during a pilgrimage to the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. A large crowd gathered to receive his blessing and honour his visit.

The event was attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Markos of Chios, Psara, and Oinousses, actress Mimi Denisi, journalist Mr. Kostidis, North Aegean Region Governor Mr. Kostas Moutzouris and his wife, as well as representatives from the Municipal Authority.

According to an announcement by the Cultural Association of Chalkeio, this visit was highlighted as one of the most significant events in the region in recent years. Residents and local institutions expressed their gratitude to the Ecumenical Patriarch for his presence and support.
