Ecumenical Patriarch in Church of Panagia Koumariotissa in Neochori, Bosphorus
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended prayerfully the Divine Liturgy, today, Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the Patriarchal Church, which was performed by Metropolitan Eirinaios Myriophyton and Peristasis.
Yesterday, Saturday afternoon, the Ecumenical Patriarch visited the Church of Panagia Koumariotissa in Neochori, where the Ephorate Committee and the members of the Community hosted a reception in his honor on the occasion of his recent name day.
The Ecumenical Patriarch was welcomed by Metropolitan Athinagoras of Kydonia, Supervisor of the Bosporus Region, Archon Megas Hartophylax of the Great Church of Christ, Lakis Vigas, President of the Ecclesiastical Community of Panagia, and small children who offered him flowers.
In his address, the Metropolitan of Kydonia expressed the joy of the members of the Community for the presence of their spiritual father on the occasion of his recent name day and the double anniversary, the 60th anniversary of his deaconship and the 30th anniversary of his patriarchate, they offered a symbolic amount for the needs of the nursing home under construction in his homeland of Imvros, a project which is carried out on the initiative and care of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the Metropolitan of Kydonia and Lakis Vingas and his associates, as well as all the Christians in the area for their love and support, and especially for their contribution to the creation of the nursing home in Imbros.
During his visit, the Ecumenical Patriarch was briefed by Damla Acar, Architect, and Rabia Şengün, Civil Engineer, both specialized in building maintenance, on the restoration of the ornate and ancient shrines of the beautiful Holy Temple.
