Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew commemorates 35th anniversary of the passing away of Metropolitan Meliton of Chalcedon
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by the local shepherd, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, visited the cemetery of Saint Ignatius to honour the memory of the late Elder Metropolitan Meliton of Chalcedon on the 35th anniversary of his falling asleep in the Lord.
During the visit, the Ecumenical Patriarch led a Trisagion service at the late Metropolitan’s grave, paying tribute to his enduring legacy and spiritual contributions to the Church. The solemn moment served as a reminder of the profound impact of Metropolitan Meliton’s ministry and his dedication to the Orthodox faithful.
