Doxology Service for the Graduating Students of Saint Spyridon College in Sydney
A Doxology Service for the graduation of the Year 12 students of the Greek Orthodox College of Saint Spyridon, took place at the Church of Saint Spyridon in Kingsford, Sydney, on Wednesday morning, 18 September 2024.
With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia presided over the Doxology Service, and was joined by the clergy of the Parish of Saint Spyridon, Parish Priest, Father Steven Scoutas and Assistant Parish Priest, Father Stavros Ivanos.
The large student body was accompanied by the Head of College, Mrs. Amelia Katsogiannis, and the members of the College staff, while present on this important occasion, especially for the year 12 students, were the President of the Parish, Mr. Elia Economou, members of Board of Directors, as well as relatives of the graduates.
At the end of the Doxology, His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia conveyed the warm greetings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, addressing also to the young graduating students, words of encouragement ahead of the HSC final exams, in which they will participate, as well as paternal wishes and advice for the new chapter of their lives that will begin after graduating from Saint Spyridon College. Among other things, he urged them to remain united with each other and close to their College and Parish, assuring at the same time that the Archbishop and the Holy Archdiocese will always support their good works.
