Doxology and Student Parade for the Anniversary of “OXI” in Nicosia, Cyprus
In the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Anastasiadis, the celebratory events for the anniversary of October 28, 1940 took place in Nicosia, Cyprus.
On Friday morning, a Panegyric Doxology was held at the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas, while the student parade followed on Lord Byron Avenue.
In his statements to journalists, after Commemorative Doxology Service, the President of the Republic of Cyprus noted that “today is one of the most historic days that the Greek people ‘wrote’ against fascism and Nazism. The ‘OXI’ of October 28, 1940 should guide every people whose rights are violated.”
