Divine Liturgy was celebrated at Church of St. Porphyrios in Gaza in the midst of war
During the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the civilian population in the Gaza Strip is paying the heaviest price and has had to leave their homes.
Therefore, hundreds of Christian and Muslim civilians have taken refuge in the Holy Monastery of Saint Porphyrios in order to protect themselves from the Israeli army’s attacks.
It is recalled that the information that had been circulated last Monday, which indicated that the Holy Monastery was destroyed by Israeli bombings, was thereafter officialy denied on the official Facebook page of the Holy Monastery.
However, despite the difficulties due to the attacks, the Matins and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated at the Church of St. Porphyrios on Sunday, 15 October 2023.
The faithful took courage through the Divine Liturgy, praying for God to give them strength to deal with the dire circumstances in the midst of war.
