On Wednesday, 14 August 2024, the eve of the Feast Day of the Dormition of the Theotokos, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Chora, on behalf on His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, officiated at the Great Vespers at the celebrating Church of Panagia Soumela, in East Keilor, Melbourne.

Bishop Evmenios conveyed to the faithful congregation the wishes and blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and spoke appropriately about the Great Feast Day of the Mother of God.

His Grace also welcomed the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, who was in Melbourne for the feast day services in honour of the Virgin Mary, as well as Archimandrite Stefanos Tinikasvili, Assistant Parish Priest at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady in Sydney.
