Delegation of the Church of Crete at the Phanar for the Thronal Feast

On the morning of Tuesday, 29 November 2022, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the Synodical Delegation of the Church of Crete, which consisted of His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, Their Eminences, Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Hersonissos, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Hierapytna and Siteia, Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, His Grace Bishop Methodios of Knossos, as well as the recently promoted members of the Office of the Holy Synod, Chief Secretary Archimandrite Niphon Vassilakis, Undersecretary Archimandrite Irenaios Batsakis and Codifier Archimandrite Evgenios Karakonstantakis.
His All-Holiness welcomed the Delegation with great joy and, once again, confirmed the strong bonds of love of our Holy Mother Great Church of Christ, towards Her daughter and First Eparchy, the Church of Crete.
His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, with words of devotion and honour, offered to His All-Holiness the respects of the Church of Crete and expressed the certainty that “all together, with unity and love, for the good of the Church, we will continue the struggle of faith and witnessing in these difficult years in which we live”.
His Eminence Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, offered to His All-Holiness a Holy Icon, designed by the Rethymnon iconographer, Mr. Nikolaos Roussakis, detailing the Holy Apostles Andrew the First-called and Bartholomew, which His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew accepted with great joy.
