Commencement of the New School Year at Saint Euphemia College
Tuesday 31st of January marked the beginning of the school year at Saint Euphemia College, Bankstown.
In Orthodox fashion, students and staff gathered in church for the Blessing Service, calling for God’s Grace upon all those who teach and those who are taught in the school.
Presiding at the Blessing was the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis.
Father Christophoros spoke lovingly to the students and staff of the College and conveyed the heartfelt blessings of our Primate Archbishop Makarios of Australia, as well as His Eminence’s exhortation to the students to strive to develop not only physically and intellectually, but predominantly spiritually, and to love Christ and their fellow person with all their heart.
In response, the Principal of the College, Fr Peter Mavrommatis expressed the thanksgiving of the whole school community to His Eminence Archbishop Makarios for his unwavering commitment to, and love for the college, and reaffirmed the dedication of the entire school community to our Holy Archdiocese and the person of our beloved Primate Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
