Church of Greece Holy Synod issues encyclical condemning Russian invasion of Ukraine

Back in Greece, but in a related development, the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece has issued an encyclical stipulating that a message will be read out in all parish cathedrals to worshippers during Church services on Sunday, March 20.

The message, issued by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, condemns the war in Ukraine, cites the Greek Orthodox Church’s efforts to support Ukrainian war refugees, and calls on the faithful to pray vigorously for peace in predominately Orthodox Ukraine.
