Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne liturgised at the celebrating Church of Sts Anargiri, Oakleigh
On Thursday and Friday, 31st October and 1st November 2024, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the Holy Services on the occasion of the Feast Day of Saints Kosmas and Damian the Unmercenaries at the Church of Saints Anargiri in the suburb of Oakleigh in Melbourne,
During the Great Vespers, His Grace was joined by clergymen from the Holy Diocese of Melbourne, Fr. Kyriakos Peripetsakis from the Holy Diocese of Chora and Fr. Jean Mawal from the Church of Saint Paul of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in Dandenong.
In the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Kyriakos was joined by the Parish Priest, Father Stavros Kakavas, as well as by Father Kyriakos Tsapas, Father Christ Dimolianis, Father Panagiotis Zoumboulis and Father Haralambos Pyrelis.
On both days of the Feast, a large number of faithful believers attended the Holy Services, including students from Oakleigh Grammar School who graced the sacred chanters stand with their presence.
During these services, His Grace addressed the large congregation in both Greek and English, sharing thoughts about the life of Saints Kosmas and Damian and their miracles, especially with the young people who were present.
Bishop Kyriakos also conveyed to everyone present the blessings and wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
