Archbishop of Athens: Let’s finally consider our responsibilities towards climate change
As the Archbishop emphasizes in his message, “I am deeply shocked, like every Greek, and I wish and pray that we do not mourn human lives.
My thoughts are on the side of all our brothers who are being tested by the fires in the Attica Basin, Evia, Messinia, Mani, and other parts of our homeland, but also on all the creatures of God and all living beings living in terror the fiery flame.
But one day we must also consider our own responsibilities to the environment and nature that the Creator has given us and realize that the effective response to climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century for humanity.”
