Archbishop of Albania performs funeral service to honour long-serving journalist Thomas Dimas
The Church of Albania has announced the passing of Thomas Dimas, a dedicated servant of the Church for three decades. Thomas Dimas played a pivotal role as a journalist, head of the press office, and editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Ngjallja.” He was also a close collaborator of His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, contributing significantly from the early years of the canonical revival of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.
At the funeral service held on 18 August 2024, at the Church of the Annunciation in Tirana, a large gathering of family members, friends, and colleagues came together to honour his memory. Archbishop Anastasios expressed profound gratitude and deep appreciation for Dimas’ invaluable contributions over the years, highlighting the kindness, virtues, and unwavering commitment that characterized his life and work.
