Following the decision of the Mother Church of Constantinople, a new Abbot of the Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of Saint Irene Chrysovalantou in Astoria was appointed, who is currently temporarily in charge, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Meletios Bougas, in succession to the recently deceased Bishop Ierotheos of Efkarpia.
