Ancient cultures meet in Greece

Greece will host the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Ancient Civilizations Forum in December 2025. The announcement was made during the 8th Ministerial Conference held in Yerevan, Armenia, where Greece was unanimously awarded the presidency for the upcoming event.

The forum, initiated in Athens in 2017, brings together countries rich in ancient cultural heritage, including Italy, China, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Peru, Bolivia, Armenia and Greece, with Mexico as an observer.

As the 2025 president, Greece aims to amplify the forum’s global visibility, strengthen efforts against illicit trafficking in cultural goods, foster knowledge exchange in conservation and restoration, and promote international cultural actions for the preservation and enhancement of member-nations’ shared heritage.
