Agiasmos Service for the beginning of the new school year at Saint John’s College, Melbourne
The Agiasmos Service for the beginning of the new school year 2024 was conducted by His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, Victoria, at St. John’s Greek Orthodox College, Preston, Melbourne. Clergy from the Archdiocesan District of Northcote also took part in the service.
During his address, His Grace Bishop Evmenios conveyed to the students, as well as to the staff of the College and the parents who were also present, the paternal wishes and blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
Bishop Evmenios also read the Archbishop’s message for the beginning of the new school year, while he informed the school community of St. John’s College about the upcoming celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the local Church, as well as for the Apostolic Visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Australia in October this year.
