A year since the election of Bishops Sozopolis, Magnesia, Kerasounta and Charioupolis
It was on the 30th of August last year, 2021, when the Mother Church of Constantinople benefacted, once again, its ecclesiastical Province on the fifth continent, with the election of four new assistant Bishops, to support and strengthen the pastoral and administrative work carried out in the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
The election of their Graces, Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta and Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, who were unanimously elected by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, followed the proposal of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
In the year since their election, the four assistant Bishops have indeed worked with holy zeal to fulfill the expectations of the Mother Church and the Ecumenical Patriarch, their Archbishop and the faithful of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
It is the prayer of all of us, that God blesses them with health and richly strengthens their ministry, so that they emerge daily and eternally worthy of the mission they have undertaken, for the good of the Church and the Christ-loving people of the fifth continent.
