A lunch in honour of the Archbishop of Australia was hosted by the Ambassador of Greece in Havana

On Saturday, 25 January 2025, the Ambassador of Greece to Havana, His Excellency Mr. Theodore Tsakiris, hosted an official luncheon, at the embassy residence, in honour of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, who is currently visiting Cuba as a representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Mother Church for the celebrations of the twenty-year anniversary of the consecration of the Church of Saint Nicholas in Havana.

In addition to the Archbishop, the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos of Mexico, Their Graces, Bishop Athenagoras of Myrina and Bishop Timotheos of Assos, and the Councillor of the Embassy, ​​Ms. Stavroula Deli, attended the luncheon.

His Eminence Archbishop Makarios thanked the Greek Ambassador for his invitation and hospitality, wished him health and strength to successfully fulfill his duties for the benefit of the Greek diaspora living in Cuba, and asked him to convey his wishes and gratitude to the Greek Government and Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis for their care and support for the Greek Diaspora.
