A delegation of the Patriarchate of Romania in Cyprus visited the Exarchate of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem

The delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate, currently in Cyprus with the relics of St. Cyprian from the Church of Zlătari in Bucharest, on Monday, visited the official representation of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Nicosia.

The members of the delegation, led by Auxiliary Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, were received by Metropolitan Timotheos of Vostra, Exarch of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Cyprus.

“The Church of Cyprus is particularly hospitable, which is evident not only from the fact that the Patriarchate of Jerusalem has a representation here, but also from the fact that many Romanian priests have the opportunity to serve in Orthodox churches in Cyprus,” said the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

“In particular, we would like to express our gratitude to Your Eminence for your openness to the Romanians. You are a hierarch who loves his brothers and loves dialogue, and this is not a human endeavor, but a gift of the Holy Spirit that few people can experience in their lives.”

“I also told the Fathers who are part of the delegation that when I visited these places a few years ago, there was neither a church nor a proper place for the headquarters of such a mission, and everything that has been accomplished is due to Your Eminence,” added Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul.

Metropolitan Timotheos of Vostra, in turn, spoke highly of Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul, recalling an earlier meeting between the two hierarchs.

“Your name is also Timotheos, and this is a joy for me. I greet a bishop whom I have known for many years from the Holy City of Jerusalem,” the hierarch said.

“Whatever we do, we do it only with God’s help, because we do everything only for Him. Everything that happens in our lives is part of God’s pedagogy, and therefore we must learn to humble ourselves,” the Metropolitan of Vostra added.

At the same time, His Eminence greeted Patriarch Daniel and expressed special appreciation for the example of the Romanian clergy and faithful in Cyprus and Jerusalem.

On Monday, the Romanian Patriarchate delegation also visited the Monastery of St. Heraclides, a monastic complex located southeast of the city of Politiko, a short distance from the ancient city of Tamassos.
