A delegation from the Hellenic Police Force visited Melbourne

For the first time in history, a Hellenic Police Delegation visited Melbourne, as guests of the Victoria Hellenic Police Association (VHPA) and supported by Victoria Police.
The VHPA invited the Hellenic Police to participate in their uniforms, alongside Victoria Police and AFP officers in the 2025 Greek National Day Ceremony.
This visit was underpinned by the support of major sponsor Agapi Care inc., and assistance from other sponsors such as Concise Financial Services.
Inspector Andrew Markakis APM together with his colleague A/Supt Efti Anastasiadis took on the responsibility of this historical visit; showcasing and touring operational policing capabilities, such as the Dog Squad, Mounted Branch and the Police Academy, including visits to various Greek community organisations and institutions.

At an official dinner, the officers formerly met and exchanged gifts with Their Graces, Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and Bishop Evmenios of Chora.
Police Chaplain, Fr Emmanuel Lykopandis from the Parish of St John the Baptist in Carlton also escorted the group through various Police operational sites.
One of the highlights of the visit was on Sunday 23 March, in full uniform the police officers Marched together with the Greek community commemorating and celebrating the 25th of March 1821.
