Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended the memorial for the late Archon Leonidas Asteris

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended the Divine Liturgy on Saturday, 11 January 2025, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Stephanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos. During the service, a memorial was held for the repose of the soul of the late Leonidas Asteris, the former Protopsaltis of the Great Church of Christ.

The service was attended by Hierarchs, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Dimitrios of the Princes’ Islands, His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada, His Eminence Metropolitan Eirinaios of Myriophyton and Peristasis, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, His Eminence Metropolitan Paisios of Leros, Kalymnos and Astypalaia, His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, His Eminence Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia, His Grace Bishop Adrianos of Halicarnassus, members of the Patriarchal Court, friends of the deceased, and faithful from Constantinople.

A memorial reception followed in the Throne Room, where the Ecumenical Patriarch spoke with heartfelt emotion about the late Leonidas Asteris, reflecting on his devoted ministry as Archon Protopsaltis of the Great Church of Christ.
