Archbishop Anastasios of Albania underwent surgery

His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania underwent emergency surgery to treat a bleeding episode and was transferred intubated again to the Intensive Care Unit.

The next 48 hours are considered critical, the latest Medical Press Release states.

The Archbishop of Albania is hospitalised for the 7th day at the “Evangelismos” hospital. His health has deteriorated rapidly.

He was rushed to surgery to treat gastrointestinal bleeding.

The Archbishop of Albania was admitted to a hospital in Tirana due to a virus that was affecting him on 30 December 2024. His health deteriorated and on 3 January 2025, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Athens.
