Melbourne: Feast Day of the Church of Saint Spyridon in Clayton

On December 11th and 12th, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand, presided over the Festal Celebrations (Hierarchical Vespers and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy) in honour of Saint Spyridon the Miracle-Worker, Bishop of Trimythous. Joining Metropolitan Myron in the feast day services were clergy from the Diocese of Melbourne, along with His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne fervently praying from inside the altar.

His Eminence expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne for their love and support.

Metropolitan Myron delivered a powerful sermon emphasising the importance of prayer from the heart, urging the faithful to focus on Christ as the central point of their lives, for only through Him can salvation be found. He also reflected on the life and miracles of Saint Spyridon throughout both days of the celebrations.

Many faithful attended the services, along with distinguished guests, including the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis, and Mr. Tony Tsourdalakis.

At the conclusion of the services, Metropolitan Myron distributed the blessed bread from the Artoklasia after Vespers and the Antidoron after the Divine Liturgy.
