Metropolis of Derkoi: Trisagion service in memory of the Late archaeologist Theodoros Makridis
On Sunday, 8 December 2024, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Church of Saint George of the Makrochori Community, with His Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi presiding.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Trisagion service was performed in memory of the distinguished archaeologist Theodoros Makridis, who was originally from Makrochori, Constantinople, and whose grave is located at the Cemetery Church of the Holy Ascension of Christ, Makrochori.
The Byzantine Choir “Byzantine Analogion of Kalamaria” attended the service, and after the Divine Liturgy, they sang carols in celebration of the upcoming Christmas holiday.
At the end of the service, the Metropolitan announced that in the new year, a memorial service will be held for the renowned archaeologist in the Makrochori Community, where he and other scholars will speak about his work and contributions.
