Perth WA: Christmas Celebrations at the Hellenic Community Playgroup
On Monday 2 December 2024, with the blessing and permission of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Hellenic Community Playgroup celebrated its last gathering for the year.
The Hellenic Community playgroup is run every Monday morning at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth, Western Australia, by Parish Priest Father Terry Gerovasilis and Presvytera Stamatia Gerovasilis in the Diocese of Perth and under the direction of His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth.
Every Monday, the children participate in the Divine Liturgy, which is followed by morning tea, Orthodox learning activities, games and fellowship in the hall.
At the final gathering for the year, the children, parents and grandparents sang Christmas carols, learned about the meaning and significance of the Nativity and enjoyed Christmas themed activities.
Father Terry Gerovasilis and the mothers of the Playgroup presented Presvytera Stamatia with a special Christmas gift and flowers to thank her for her incredible efforts in organising and running the playgroup all year.
