The Feast Day of the Church of Saint Andrew in Forest Hill, Melbourne
On both Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of November 2024, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the Feast Day services on the occasion of the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle and First-Called at the celebrating Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle in the Melbourne suburb of Forest Hill.
The celebrations began on Friday evening with the Feast Day Vespers, in which Bishop Kyriakos was joined by clergy from the Diocese of Melbourne, including the Parish Priest, Father Kyprianos Nerouppos.
During the Service, His Grace spoke about the life and God-pleasing activity of the Apostle Andrew before the large congregation, which also included students of the Greek School “Aetolian College”, from the Forest Hill campus.
Bishop Kyriakos also conveyed to everyone the blessing and wishes of their Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
On Saturday morning, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne officiated at the Matins and presided over the Feast Day Divine Liturgy, assisted by the Parish Priest, Father Kyprianos Nerouppos. A large number of devout believers participated, while Federal MP Mr. Michael Sukkar was also present, invited by the Parish to the celebrations for its patron Saint.
In his sermon, Bishop Kyriakos spoke again about the life of the honoured Saint, then conveyed to everyone the blessing and wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and, finally, distributed the antidoron to all the congregation.
