Feast Day of Saint George Karslidis in Sipsa, Drama
The Memory of Saint George Karslidis the new Confessor was celebrated at the Holy Monastery of the Ascension of the Saviour in Sipsa, Drama.
On the eve of the feast day, Sunday 3 November 2024, a Holy Vigil conducted with the Athonite rite took place, and was officiated by His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Amathounta, and the Holy Sermon was preached by His Eminence Metropolitan Ioustinos of Nea Krini and Kalamaria.
On the main day of the Feast, Monday, 4 November 2024, the Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place, and was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Theologos of Serres and Nigrita, who also spoke appropriately about the life of the honoured Saint. Joining Metropolitan Theologos in the Divine Liturgy were Their Eminences, Metropolitan Dimitrios of Goumenissa, Metropolitan Gregory of Tsalka, and the local Shepherd, Metropolitan Dorotheos of Drama.
The nuns of the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Panorama, Thessaloniki, chanted the sacred hymns in the Feast Day Services.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, there was a procession of the relics of Saint George with the participation of a large number of pilgrims who, with order and reverence, waited to venerate the holy relics in order to receive the grace of the Saint.
