‘Oxi Day’ celebrations at Brisbane City Hall organised by the Honorary Consulate-General of Greece in Queensland

His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane, who was joined by the clergy of Brisbane and the Gold Coast, was present at the celebrations for ‘Oxi Day’, which was organised by the Honorary Consulate-General of Greece in Queensland and the Hellenic Initiative at Brisbane City Hall.

His Grace conveyed to everyone the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and thanked the Honorary Consul General of Greece in Brisbane, Mr. George Mastrocostas, for the well-organised event, his kind invitation and the respect he shows towards the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Arts, The Hon. Mr John Paul Langbroek, representing the former Premier of Queensland, The Hon. Mr David Crisafulli MP, newly-elected Premier of Queensland, Brisbane City Councillor Ms. Vicki Howard, representing the Mayor of Brisbane, District Court Judge Mr Nicholas Andreatidis KC and Mr. Georgios Protopapas, General Manager of SOS Children’s Villages of Greece , who travelled from Greece to attend the celebration.
