Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew prays for the victims and those affected by deadly floods in Spain
The sympathy and support of the Mother Church for the biblical-scale disaster and the loss of many human lives caused by the deadly floods in Spain was expressed by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in a telegram sent to the Shepherd of the Iberian Peninsula, His Eminence Metropolitan Vissarion of Spain and Portugal.
His All-Holiness prayed for the repose of souls of the victims and the relief of those affected, as well as for the speedy restoration of the damages and pointed out that “we should all respect and protect God’s creation, our home, and not recklessly destroy it, thereby leading to our own self-destruction”.
