The Ecumenical Patriarch in Ankara
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, travelled to Ankara on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, to attend the reception for the country’s National Day at the Beştepe Presidential Palace, together with other religious leaders.
During this brief visit to the capital, the Ecumenical Patriarch will be accompanied by His Grace Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, the Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery of the Theological School of Halki.
Earlier in the morning, the Ecumenical Patriarch visited the city’s Governor’s Office and congratulated the Governor on the National Day, along with leaders of other Christian denominations and religions, the Consular Corps, and representatives of various high-level services and institutions of Constantinople.
